Established as a nonprofit and recognized by the New York State Board of Regents in 2011, Historic Pursuits is an education outreach specializing in the design and implementation of experiential courses pertaining to America’s formative years (pre-1830s).

OUR COMMANDER:
Christopher S. Blomgren, M.Ed., has spent the past 30 years sharing his knowledge of history and experiential education with schools, corporations and civic organizations. Chris' career path reflects this passion for civics and education outreach: army infantry officer; camp director; residential counselor for at-risk youth; martial arts sensei; first-aid instructor; wilderness survival instructor and county recreation facilitator.
Mr. Blomgren has presented for the Living History Education Foundation, the National Council for History Education, and the Association for Experiential Education. He is a published author (SOS: Survival and Beyond for the Christian Adventurer) and award winning poet. Chris currently teaches a course at Roberts Wesleyen University (Education in a Changing World) and is completing work on his second book (Historic Pursuits: reflections, rants and reminisces of a history guy).
